We're offering new and experienced mediators a space to practice their skills and receive real feedback from seasoned family and divorce mediators. Participants should be prepared for honest critique.

In this bootcamp, we will have 6 participants total. Each week, one participant will have an hour to mediate with our couple (played by local improv actors) while the rest of the mediators observe. Everyone may participate in the discussion portion afterwards. As a prerequisite, all mediators must have completed a 40-hour training in divorce mediation. 

 

Once our 6 participant slots fill up, we will offer the opportunity to observe at a discounted rate. If you are interested in joining the bootcamp but do not have a 40-hour divorce mediation training certificate, you are still welcome to join as an observer.

 

Over the course of 6 weeks, the mediators will lead our couple through an entire separation agreement.

Participants will learn how to work with parties who monopolize session time, how to keep the conversation on track, how to choose which thread to follow, and what to do in a stalemate, among other skills that really only come from practice.
